The founder

Amrita Rai

Professional dancer, choreographer and instructor with twelve years of teaching behind her and students in several parts of the world.

She trained in Mumbai, assisted on choreography in the Bollywood industry, and spent a year teaching and choreographing in the United States before coming home to build Aangan.

Aangan means courtyard — the open space in a house where a family gathers, celebrates and performs. That is the room she is trying to make.

Four groups. One room they all belong in.

Weekend classes in small groups, so every student is actually seen. Beginners are welcome in every group — nobody is too late and nobody is too new.

Little Feet

4–6

Creative movement, rhythm and coordination. Short, playful, and built around how long a small child can actually concentrate.
